Here is an edit of some of my favourite bits from our living room, lots of which we had in our previous house and a few key new bits which we fell in love with. I did the Create Academy course with Rita Koning and one of the many useful tips she shared was that - unless you are significantly downsizing of course - you should take all of your furniture with you to your new house. It is better to have a table for your drink, even if it isn't perfect, rather than to have no table at all. The Ikea bedside table below had been sitting in our loft for years and we bought it to the new house on the off chance there might be a home for it and, there it now sits next to the armchair. We might get a new one at some point but for now it is great to have somewhere to put that glass of wine.

We fancied a little UK break for a few nights and after a bit of research we came across Margate as an option and it really did not disappoint. About 2 hours from us in Brighton - it had a similar feel about it. A very bohemian, arty heart with udons of independent cafes, shops and restaurants - and a sandy beach. The weather was even kind to us and the sun shone for most of the time we were there. A big bonus for a UK break - especially in March! If you still aren’t sure whether Margate is for you – here are 10 reasons why you should book a trip now.
Stonewashed linen From bedlinen to tablecloths and napkins stonewashed linen is a trend that isn't set to go anywhere fast. The best thing about it in my humble opinion is that ironing said materials is completely unnecessary. Embrace that crumpled look! I particularly like lots of linen in the same tone to give a layered [...]
The autumn leaves brushing your boots as you wander to the train station with a cup of hot coffee on your way into town. You get to the platform and watch as the warm glow from the sun glistens over the trees in the distance. The reality is usually quite different, usually involving me running [...]
I, like most people, would love to adorn my walls with a mixture of gorgeous original artwork that I have sourced from antique markets and big auction houses. In reality that is completely unrealistic and - like a lot of other areas in my home - requires a bit more research to find the best option for my budget.
Below I have pulled together just some of the options I have found over the past few months whilst I have been researching some ideas for the gallery wall I am planning to go above the sofa in the lounge (more to come on that very soon).
Spring is the season of hope. Colour starts creeping back into the garden, the nights get longer, the day gets brighter, the clouds occasionally lift long enough to take your coat off and expose your ankles. For me, it is the seasonal equivalent to a Friday. You still have the whole season ahead to look [...]
